Spring 2009 Market Introductions:

NICHOLS & STONE SPANS THE AGES WITH NEW INTRODUCTIONS

In 2008, 150-year old American manufacturer Nichols & Stone joined the Stickley family of brands.
Distributed independently throughout the country, the Nichols & Stone line is expanding briskly this spring.
New introductions at the High Point Market include transitional designs for the dining room, and bedroom
groups with roots in Colonial Williamsburg.

Nichols & Stone’s Freedom Collection offers sleek, crisp dining furniture crafted from solid birch and maple.
Large and small round pedestal dining tables are available, along with two saber-legged tables, one with
rectangular top, the other with boat-shaped top. All tables come with aproned leaves. A remarkable drop-leaf
extension table can expand from 20” to 92” with leaves, and a fifth leg. Four styles of dining chairs: latticeback,
x-back, slat-back, and upholstered back, complement these tables and encourage mixing and matching to
suit any preference. All chairs may be fitted with either wood or upholstered seats. Two stains, and four
paints (black, red, white, and blue) add to the creative possibilities. The lattice-back and x-back styles are also
available as a counter stool and or bar stool. Rounding out the dining-room introductions are a buffet and a
serving table. Both pieces are 54” long and feature tapered saber legs and satin nickel hardware.

The pairing of Nichols & Stone with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, thanks to a special licensing
program, joins two historic names. This year’s Williamsburg by Nichols & Stone offerings blend the elegance
of 18th-century design with the relaxed comfort of today. The distinctive Cypher Bed’s hand-wrought,
calligraphic metal headboard and footboard draw their inspiration from the gates of the Governor’s Palace in
Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. The Empire style of the sleigh bed is simple, yet refined. A curved top rail
frames the raised-paneled headboard, while the low footboard and bracket feet provide the look and
practicality of a platform-style bed. Additional Williamsburg bedroom pieces, all crafted from maple, include
a six-drawer tall chest, a triple dresser with a projecting central bank of narrow drawers, a bow-front chest, a
mirror, and three styles of nightstand. All are available in a variety of finishes and paints.
